Jin Helping Student

BTS’ Jin has gone viral after reportedly saving a 21-year-old Brazilian college student from a robbery.

The incident, which took place in July 2023, highlights a unique way the K-pop idol protected a fan during his military service.

The student, Natali Vitoria Ramos Reis, was waiting at a bus stop in Curitiba after night classes when an unknown man approached her.

He snatched her phone, intending to steal it, but quickly returned the device and fled after glancing at the back of the case.

The phone case displayed a photo of Jin wearing his military uniform and a face mask.

Natali believes the robber assumed the man in the picture was her boyfriend serving in the military, prompting him to return the phone and flee immediately.

At the time of the incident, Jin was indeed serving his mandatory military duty in South Korea.

He enlisted in December 2022 and was recognized as an ‘elite soldier,’ earning an early promotion to corporal for his excellence in training and combat skills.

While Jin never knew the student, the moment highlighted his unexpected influence even during enlistment.

Fans around the globe were amused by the report, joking that Jin’s commanding presence is powerful enough to deter criminals even from thousands of miles away.

Family Devouring Durian

A Chinese family went viral after finishing 5.5kg of durian in just 30 minutes outside Chiang Mai International Airport.

Since durians are banned on flights, traveler Li and his family ate box after box on the spot, with each member reportedly consuming four to five pieces to avoid wasting the pungent fruit.

According to Li, his father bought the durians that morning, planning for the family to enjoy them before heading to the airport.

But after several stops and other meals along the way, the boxes of durian remained untouched, leaving the family to eat them all upon arrival.

Li admitted the experience left him exhausted. The family finished all the durian in just 30 minutes and boarded their flight, still carrying the fruit’s strong aroma.

“I never want to see durian again,” he joked, apologizing to fellow passengers for the lingering smell during boarding.

Works of Art

Japanese farmers are going viral for transforming large rice fields into vivid works of art.

Known as Tambo Art, these designs use different rice varieties to form giant images that appear as the plants grow. It has become a celebrated showcase of creativity and agricultural pride.

The tradition began in the early 1990s when Inakadate village searched for a way to revive its aging community.

After learning rice had grown there for 2,000 years, villagers planted different rice strains in precise patterns. Their first huge artwork in 1993 drew visitors and sparked interest.

Today, Tambo Art has evolved into a celebrated form of land art. Farmers work months in advance to map out designs, from folklore and historical figures to modern pop culture.

When the fields turn lush and colorful in summer, thousands travel to rural towns to see the images come alive.
