He is already being discussed as Japan’s next elite prospect, with some fans even daring to compare his potential to Son Heung-min and Takefusa Kubo.

Spanish media have praised Nishiyama’s left foot as a rare weapon, calling it an ‘unparalleled cannon.’

Playing on the left wing, the same position as Son Heung-min, he uses sharp dribbling, fearless one-on-one moves, and confident finishing to trouble defenders.

Born in Tokyo and raised in Shibuya, Nishiyama moved to Catalonia with his family three years ago.

His talent at a local club quickly stood out, catching the attention of Barcelona scouts and earning him a place at La Masia, the club’s famous youth academy.

Nishiyama made a strong impression at La Masia, scoring 20 goals with Barcelona’s U-11 team in his first season.

Promoted to the U-12 squad this year, he has transitioned smoothly to full 11-a-side matches, impressing coaches with his talent at just 11 years old

In a recent U-12 match, Nishiyama started as a left winger and led his team to victory with multiple goals.

Spectators reportedly yelled warnings about ‘Number 11,’ proving his reputation precedes him. He has already tallied six goals and multiple assists in the current season.

Nishiyama’s journey is only beginning. His rapid rise at Barcelona has thrilled fans in Japan and beyond, with many seeing him as a potential successor to Takefusa Kubo and a future rival to Son Heung-min.
