Single Father Goes Viral Dressing as a Woman For His Daughter on Mother’s Day
A single father in Thailand has gone viral after dressing up as a mother to celebrate his adopted daughter during Mother’s Day.
On August 12, 2023, Joe Lookphonbodee showed up at his daughter’s school event wearing a dress and wig so she wouldn’t feel left out while classmates honored their mothers.
The school had invited students and their mothers for the celebration, and Joe didn’t want the seat reserved for his daughter’s mom to stay empty.
He said he simply wanted to protect his daughter from feeling different. To him, love mattered more than judgment or appearances from others.
Joe arrived in a black gingham dress and matching wig, joining the ceremony where students honored their mothers.
His daughter, Cream, loved the surprise and said, “I don’t feel embarrassed. This Mother’s Day, I want to say I love my father. Thank you, Dad, for raising me and making me happy.”
“When the school organizes Mother’s Day activities, I don’t want my child to have an inferiority complex… Personally, I’m not ashamed because I love my child,” said Joe.
For Joe, the moment wasn’t about attention. It was about love, inclusion, and showing up when it mattered most.
