After 30 years of searching, a mother in China finally reunited with her son named Li Jian, who vanished at age three while riding his tricycle.

Their reunion, brought an emotional close to a decades-long search marked by heartbreak.

In 1989, 3-year-old Li Jian was riding his small tricycle outside his home in Changzhi, Shanxi Province, when he disappeared without a trace.

Police later found him, brought him to the station, and his future adoptive father took him home to raise.

Meanwhile, his biological parents never stopped searching. They spent days and months looking, posting missing-person notices across towns, and sharing updates in newspapers and on the radio.

Later, they turned to social media platforms like TikTok, hoping their son might one day see their messages.

For decades, no news emerged, leaving the family torn between hope and sorrow. The loss took a heavy toll on his father, who blamed himself relentlessly.

He turned to alcohol, which destroyed his health and ultimately led to his death more than ten years ago.

Then in June 2019, Shanxi police found a DNA match in the national database. Chen, a man from Henan adopted years ago, shared the missing boy’s DNA.

Authorities contacted both sides, quietly setting the stage for the long-awaited reunion the family had dreamed of for thirty years.

When Li Jian finally met his biological mother, the family collapsed into tears, overwhelmed by the years of longing.

His mother spoke of endless nights worrying and searching, while also expressing gratitude to his adoptive parents for raising him. After thirty years apart, they finally stood together again.
