67-Year-Old Japanese Elder Goes Viral Admiting He Regrets Saving Money His Entire Life

Published

A 67-year-old Japanese man has gone viral after saving money in his entire life, only to be left with deep regret in his retirement.

Known as Suzuki, he lived frugally for decades, carrying the habit into marriage. But when his wife passed away, he realized money could never replace the memories they missed together.

Suzuki was born into a poor family and started working part-time while still in secondary school. Determined to build a secure future, he lived with strict saving habits.

Even with a steady job, he chose to stay in a cheap apartment far from work and survived on simple homemade meals packed in his lunchbox.

Suzuki met his future wife at work, and though she knew his frugal ways, she supported him as they built a family.

Their leisure time was spent on simple picnics in nearby parks, and whenever they traveled, Suzuki always chose the cheapest route. Practicality defined their lives over comfort.

Their lifestyle revolved around cutting costs. Suzuki avoided eating out, cycled or walked instead of using public transport, and rarely used electricity, especially air conditioning.

He also never bought a house or a car. Through these sacrifices, he saved $440,000, believing financial security was the key to happiness.

Then, tragedy struck. Shortly after Suzuki retired, his wife was diagnosed with a serious illness and passed away at 66. The loss shook him deeply.

He realized the years spent saving had cost them precious experiences, travel, good food, and memories they could never make. Suddenly, money meant very little.

“I wish my wife and I could have relished travelling more and eating in restaurants,” he said.

“But time cannot be turned back. What is the meaning of life with only money left?” he added.

Remembering Miki Endo, the Woman Who Warned Her Town During the 2011 Japan Tsunami

Published

on

In March 2011, when a tsunami as tall as a 12-story building hit Japan after the Tōhoku earthquake, 24-year-old Miki Endo stayed inside Minamisanriku’s Crisis Management Center to broadcast warnings.

As others ran for safety, she kept urging residents to flee to higher ground, refusing to leave her post.

She understood that every moment counted and that her voice might reach someone still unaware of the danger.

She kept broadcasting until the water struck the building, choosing to help others instead of saving herself. Her final warnings gave people precious time.

The tsunami eventually engulfed the entire crisis center on March 11, 2011, leaving only its steel frame standing.

Many who fled to the roof were swept away, with only a few surviving by holding onto the antenna. Miki never escaped. Her body was recovered weeks later, on April 23, 2011.

Since then, Miki’s courage has been remembered across Japan. Survivors credit her warnings for saving many lives.

Her story is often shared as an example of selflessness in a moment of overwhelming fear. She wasn’t a public figure, but her actions showed the strength of someone who put her community first.

Today, the remains of the crisis center stand as a memorial in Minamisanriku. Visitors come to honor the people lost that day, and many stop to remember Miki’s voice.

Her dedication turned a tragic moment into a lasting reminder of how person’s determination can protect an entire town.

China’s cinemas are going viral for letting moviegoers bring their dogs to watch ‘Zootopia 2.’

Starting late November, select theaters in cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen rolled out pet-friendly screenings, creating a buzz online as owners shared videos of pups enjoying the animated adventure.

These special sessions are strictly for pets, ensuring that viewers with allergies or noise sensitivities are not affected.

Each seat comes with diapers, pads, and cleaning wipes, and owners are responsible for tidying up after their furry companions.

Different cities also added special touches for pet attendees. Beijing created “calm dog zones” for shy pups, Shenzhen set up photo corners, and Chengdu hosted same-breed viewings.

Meanwhile, Lanzhou teamed up with adoption groups to hold multi-day companion events.

For many pet owners, these screenings have become more than just a movie outing, they’re a chance to make memories with their furry companions.

From wagging tails to shared popcorn moments, Zootopia 2 has turned movie nights into heartwarming adventures for pets and their humans alike.

Man Reunites with High School Sweetheart After Terminal Diagnosis And Vows to Stay By Her Side

A man in eastern China named Fusheng went viral after returning to his first love upon discovering she suffers from a rare, debilitating disease.

Fusheng reunited with his high school girlfriend Cheng Aixiao in Fujian, promising his unwavering love and that she would never have to face her challenges alone.

Fusheng and Cheng first met in high school and began dating, but they parted ways after graduation when they attended different universities.

During their time together, Cheng mentioned her family history of hereditary ataxia, though Fusheng was too young to fully understand its implications

Cheng’s mother was diagnosed with ataxia at 23, shortly after Cheng’s birth. Growing up, Cheng watched her mother battle the debilitating illness, a struggle that deeply shaped her childhood.

Unfortunately, her mother tragically passed away while Cheng was still in secondary school.

As she grew up, Cheng feared inheriting her mother’s illness. At 23, her worst fears came true. Symptoms appeared and rapidly worsened, leaving her unable to walk independently.

She also experienced uncoordinated movements, affecting her arms, legs, and even her facial expressions.

By the time Cheng turned 25, she relied on others for nearly everything. Though her condition is incurable, she stayed hopeful for future treatments.

Seven years after their last meeting, Fusheng learned of Cheng’s condition through friends. Without hesitation, he returned to his hometown to see her.

Their meeting was simply heartwarming. When Cheng saw Fusheng for the first time, she smiled like she always did.

That moment struck Fusheng, and he decided to support her through every hardship. He gave up everything, determined that she would not have to endure her struggles alone.

Fusheng now works a full-time job by day and delivers food at night to help pay for Cheng’s treatment, taking only two days off each month.

“If we don’t have tomorrow, I want to cherish every today I get to spend with you,” he said, dedicating all his free time to be with her.
