The upcoming ‘John Wick’ prequel has officially been confirmed as an anime adaptation, exploring the backstory of the iconic assassin portrayed by Keanu Reeves and the infamous “impossible task” that led to his retirement.

Director Chad Stahelski, who directed all four mainline John Wick films, expressed enthusiasm for using anime to creatively expand the John Wick universe.

As the franchise continues beyond Chapter 4, this new anime format will dive into previously unexplored aspects of John Wick’s story, with Stahelski and Reeves closely involved in shaping its development.
