The English-language voice cast for Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film ‘The Boy and the Heron’, set to make its debut in US theaters and IMAX on December 8th, was released.

The cast includes Christian Bale (Shoichi Maki), Dave Bautista (the Parakeet King), Gemma Chan (Natsuko), Willem Dafoe (Noble Pelican), Karen Fukuhara (Lady Himi), Mark Hamill (Grand Uncle), Robert Pattinson (The Grey Heron) and Florence Pugh (Kiriko).

The film was originally thought to be Miyazaki’s last, but it was recently confirmed by a Studio Ghibli producer that Miyazaki has already begun working on his next film. In an interview with Liberation, Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki said about Miyazaki, “He’s thinking about this next project every day, and I can’t stop him — in fact, I’ve given up. I no longer try to dissuade him, even if he were to make a failed film. In life, it’s only the work that delights him.”
