Netflix Officially Greenlit ‘Squid Game’ Season Two and Teased Upcoming Character Appearances

Netflix officially greenlit the second season of ‘Squid Game’ in an announcement Sunday that featured a letter from the show’s creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.
In the letter, upcoming character appearances were teased including the return of season one characters but also new characters such as Cheol-su, the “boyfriend” of the show’s infamous animatronic doll, Young-hee.

Hayao Miyazaki to Continue Making Films as ‘The Boy and the Heron’ is No Longer His Last

Hayao Miyazaki may no longer be retiring from filmmaking as previously thought.
According to Studio Ghibli VP Junichi Nishioka, Miyazaki is already coming into the office with new ideas, suggesting that ‘The Boy and the Heron’ may no longer be the famed filmmaker’s final film as it had been previously.
‘The Boy and the Heron’ is set to make its US premiere at this year’s New York Film Festival, taking place from October 6th to 8th. It’s set to make its debut in theaters nationwide and IMAX on December 8th.

Prime Video released a first look at the upcoming series ‘Expats’ directed by Lulu Wang and starring Nicole Kidman, Sarayu Blue, Ji-young Yoo, Brian Tee, Amelyn Pardenilla, and others.
It’s described as the following: “Set against the vibrant and tumultuous tapestry of 2014 Hong Kong, Expats centers on three American women—Margaret (Nicole Kidman), Hilary (Sarayu Blue), and Mercy (Ji-young Yoo)—whose lives intersect after a sudden family tragedy. The series interrogates privilege and explores what happens when the line between victimhood and culpability becomes blurred.”

Hulu released the trailer for the upcoming film ‘Quiz Lady’ starring Sandra Oh and Awkwafina.
The film is described to follow “Anne (Awkwafina), a brilliant but tightly wound game show obsessee, and her estranged train wreck of a sibling, Jenny (Sandra Oh), as they come together to pay off their mother’s gambling debt. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped the sisters set out on a wild, cross-country trek to earn cash the best way they know how: By turning Anne into a game show champion. And doing so might just bring this dysfunctional family together.”
The film is set to debut on Hulu November 3rd.
