Former BIGBANG Star T.O.P Confirms Comeback with First Solo Album in 12 years
Former BIGBANG rapper T.O.P is going viral after announcing his long-awaited return to music.
The 37-year-old artist confirmed he will drop his first full-length solo album in the fourth quarter of 2025. If it happens, this will mark his first release since the hip-hop track ‘Doom Dada’ in 2013.
T.O.P took the world by storm with his acting in Squid Game Season 2, his first role since the 2017 film ‘Out of Control’.
He first rose to fame as a member of BIGBANG, one of South Korea’s most successful boy bands, which has sold over 140 million records worldwide since its 2006 debut.
In 2020, he announced his departure from the entertainment industry after facing a marijuana charge, and officially left BIGBANG in 2023.In the Netflix hit, the 37-year-old actor plays Thanos, a failed rapper who joins the deadly games after falling into debt from investing in a failed cryptocurrency called MG Coin.
Now, after years of reflection, T.O.P says he’s ready to face the world again, but on his own terms.
“I made huge mistakes and collapsed mentally,” he admitted in a recent interview, “but I’ve never stopped creating music. I feel alive whenever I’m in the studio, and I believe the time has come to share it with the world.”
Industry insiders expect the album to drop sometime after October, signaling a new chapter in T.O.P’s career.
While no official details have been confirmed yet, one thing is certain, T.O.P is gearing up for a major comeback that fans have been waiting years to see.
