Japan has won the 2025 Sirha Lyon Pastry World Cup, defeating France and securing its second consecutive title. 

The team impressed judges with an artful dessert, driven by the talent of Masanaori Hata (chocolate candidate), Yuji Matoba (sugar candidate) and Ryu Miyazaki (ice-cream candidate).


France placed second, while Malaysia (who previously were the champions in 2019) received the bronze medal.

The competition featured 18 countries, Japan’s victory cements its rising dominance in pastry arts, skillfully blending cultural heritage with modern techniques.
