Kim dominated this year’s Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe event in Aspen, earning gold in her category and landing the first-ever double cork in X Games women’s snowboarding history.
Kim made her X Games debut just at the age of 13 when she shocked the world by beating the greatest woman’s superpipe rider, Kelly Clark.
Reflecting on her journey, Kim shared, “I was in a bit of a rut. I really did not enjoy snowboarding for a couple of years. This year, I wanted to change that and do runs that felt good to me.”
With this latest victory, Kims is now tied with Shaun White for the most superpipe gold medals in X Games history.
Looking ahead, she has a chance to make even more history by becoming the first snowboarder to win three consecutive Olympic golds in 2026.
