Netflix unveiled Miya Cech as Toph Beifong, a blind master earthbender, for the second season of the live adaptation of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Cech, who is of Chinese and Japanese descent and known for her roles in ‘Beef’ and ‘The Darkest Minds,’ expressed her excitement about representing her heritage and has already begun training to master Toph’s movements for an authentic portrayal.
Producers praised Cech for embodying Toph’s strength and vulnerability, as season two explores her earthbending training with Aang and the escalating conflict with the Fire Nation.
