The Delaware House passed Senate Bill 297, requiring Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) history in K-12 classrooms, now awaiting Governor John Carney’s signature.
Delaware will join six other states in adopting such legislation, following advocacy by Make Us Visible Delaware, which has highlighted the urgency of incorporating AANHPI history in education.
Sponsored by key legislators, the bill seeks to combat anti-Asian American bullying and enhance representation and visibility in Delaware’s educational curriculum.
