‘Nanashino’, a sweets specialty store in Tokyo’s Nakameguro neighborhood, sells a unique shaved ice called ‘Kakigori’ that resembles an ‘onigiri’ rice ball.
The ‘rice’ part of the dessert contains ice and milk syrup, while the ‘seaweed’ is made with a homemade seaweed sauce, filled with caramelized plum milk syrup, walnuts, caramel sauce, and plum jelly.
The dessert costs 1,950 yen ($12) and will remain available on the summer menu from June 7th to August 28th.
