Hayao Miyazaki Wins ‘Best Animated Feature’ At The Oscars

Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki took home the Academy Award for best animated feature for “The Boy and the Heron.”

He also won his first Golden Globe this year, topping the North American box office and grossing $168 million globally.

The film is partly based on Miyazaki’s childhood and follows a 12-year-old boy who lost his mother during World War II.
