Governor Kathy Hochul promised $30 million to support for the safety of New York’s AAPI community during the state’s annual Lunar New Year Parade.

In her speech, the governor denounced hate crimes against the community and reiterated the state’s commitment to protection.

Under Hochul’s leadership, Lunar New Year was made a public school holiday in a historical decision to recognize AAPI heritage.
