South Korea will provide $3 million worth of humanitarian aid to Japan, providing relief for the earthquake that impacted the country’s western region.

The earthquake happened on New Year’s Day and resulted in more than 200 casualties in Japan’s Noto peninsula.

Japan’s foreign ministry announced: “We truly welcome and appreciate this decision which demonstrates the friendly and cooperative relationship between Japan and South Korea.”
