Hayao Miyazaki earned his first Golden Globe Award for his fantasy film ‘The Boy and the Heron’ in the Best Motion Picture- Animated category.

The win is the first Golden Globe Award for Miyazaki, the first for Studio Ghibli and the first for an animated feature that wasn’t made in the English language.

‘The Boy and the Heron’ is supposedly the final movie from Miyazaki, who previously won an Oscar for his 2001 film ‘Spirited Away’.
